Our Story
Tourah was born from a simple frustration: travel should be personal, not prescribed.
As frequent travelers ourselves, we grew tired of being herded onto crowded tour buses, following rigid schedules, and missing the authentic stories that make places come alive. We wanted to explore at our own pace—to linger at a viewpoint, dive deep into the history of a single building, or skip what didn't interest us.
At the same time, we met countless locals with incredible knowledge of their cities—tour guides, historians, artists, and passionate storytellers—who struggled to reach travelers outside traditional tour companies that took massive commissions.
So in Carinthia, Austria, a team of travel enthusiasts and software engineers came together to build Tourah: a platform that gives travelers the freedom to explore on their own terms while empowering local guides to share their expertise and earn fairly.
